Automatic Transmissions shift between gears automatically to optimize driving, and changes gears based on the driver's throttle pedal, vehicle speed, engine speed, and vehicle load. Typical automatic transmissions have 4-5 forward gear ratios, a Reverse, Park, and Neutral gear. Shifting gears occur automatically once the car is in Drive and there is no need for a clutch pedal or gear shift like there is in a Manual Transmission. Automatic transmission repair is complicated based on all the components that make it up, and you need to have any automatic transmission issues properly assessed by auto mechanics. Call 941-822-6151 to talk to the mechanics of Sarasota Mechanic about your transmission problems.
There are clutches in both automatic and manual transmission cars, and different types of clutches. When shifting gears, the clutch engages and disengages from the flywheel and transfers the torque through the transmission. Clutches should help your vehicle start and shift gears smoothly. The clutch in your car receives a lot of wear and can eventually wear out. If your clutch begins slipping irregularly or is making noises that are raising suspicion, contact Sarasota Mechanic to see if clutch replacement is necessary.
Four-Wheel Drive Transmission
A four-wheel (4x4) drive vehicle has differential gears, both front and rear axles, and a transfer case attached to the transmission. Four-wheel drive vehicles demand maintenance on the transfer case, front differentials, rear differentials, and transmission fluids. Visit us on 1752 Apex Rd UNIT B for service on your four-wheel drive transmission services.
Front-Wheel Drive Transmission
If your vehicle has Front-wheel drive, the engine drives the front wheels only. The power is routed through the transmission to the final drive where it is split and sent to the two front wheels through the drive axles. The engine, transmission, and additional hardware is all located in the front of the car. If you are in need, Sarasota Mechanic of Sarasota, FL will gladly repair front-wheel drive transmission vehicles.
Driving a vehicle with a Manual Transmission requires using the clutch pedal and gear shift to manually shift gears based on the speed of the vehicle. Manual transmissions have been built with anywhere from two to eight gears. Front-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive are the two main configurations for manual transmissions. Typically, manual transmissions require less maintenance then automatic transmissions. At Sarasota Mechanic, our auto mechanics can diagnose your vehicle and then recommend the transmission repair or transmission service you need to ensure safety and improve the lifetime of your vehicle.
In motor vehicles, the transmission usually refers to the gear box, which uses gears and gear trains to transmit speed and tourque from a rotating power source to another device. You can have your car's transmission replaced with a new, rebuilt, remanufactured, repaired or used transmission. For more information contact Sarasota Mechanic in Sarasota, FL. Our experienced service technicians can help you make the best decision for your vehicle and your wallet.

The transfer case is connected to the transmission and also to the front and rear axles by means of drive shafts.Trust the automotive experts at Sarasota Mechanic for all your transmission repairs.
Ash has been servicing my BMW 128 for the last year... I love that he will always answer my call or return my text! He does awesome work and at an affordable price. Very honest guy. He always makes me feel like a VIP. I would highly recommend him.
I am very pleased with the honest service I receive from this business every time I go. My fixer upper has needed a few services done to keep her running and I've always left with the problem fixed and not feeling like I've been taken advantage of. Great service, great staff.
Beautiful Shop. Ashly the owner is very professional, courteous, experienced, and most of all honest. The shop is spotless and neat. His now new location has air conditioned waiting room with TV. Much nicer and improved shop. I believe Ashly will continue to grow. And would recommend him to everybody.
We love Ashley! He services my BMW. The car was unfortunately sold to me by a (former) trusted family friend with multiple very obvious issues that turned up almost immediately after my purchase of this vehicle. Ashley has been very honest with me and very helpful in the diagnosing and fixing of these issues. Now my car runs beautifully and I actually enjoy driving it! He's very kind and cares a lot about his customers! Me and my boyfriend won't go to anyone else!
He was AMAZING, He let me know what caused the problem and then took his time explaining it. I'm a college girl so I don't know much about cars, and he was quick and efficient. He understood my budget and knew what was needed to be done, and what could wait to be done I would recommend him to anyone! He's amazing. Thank you Ashly I truly appreciate everything. My car is running better than ever now.
There is no mechanic I have ever trusted so unconditionally. To say Ashly is an expert is an understatement of his skills. Even when I lived in the North Port area I would still come to him for my repairs. Ashly is an honest, hard working guy and I will always bring my vehicle to him. I refer all of my friends to him and will continue to do so as he is a genuinely great mechanic!
I could not be happier with the service provided and the help I received including getting specific instructions for going to a part store to get everything taken care of. I will not go anywhere else for any work done because this is the best mechanic I've found so far in the area! Well worth the drive. Thank you!!
Work was done quickly and at a fair price. BTW, no appointment on July 4th. Awesome job. Many thanks to Ashley for making it happen!
I initially questioned the legitimacy of this businesses reviews because there were so many positive responses, but Sarasota Mechanic is the real deal and has earned all of these positive reviews! Ash is knowledgeable, competent, honest, consistent and reasonably priced. He is completely transparent about parts cost and labor while providing customers options so they can make the best decisions about their car repairs. This is the best and only mechanic you'll ever need!
Called these guys on Saturday out of a bit of desperation because I needed my alternator replaced by Monday before I drove up to maryland. Almost no other shops were open on Sunday or could even look at my car before Monday afternoon. These guys offered to come to me and fix my car for significantly cheaper than other places I called. And I didn't have to get my car towed over there. After they fixed it on sunday, they charged me even less than the quote. Overall, very good experience and I will definitely call them again.
